While these moulds boast high surface hardness and commendable strength post-treatment, they fall short in terms of plasticity and toughness. Additionally, they offer only moderate cutting performance, and their weldability and hardenability are less than ideal. Moreover, they are prone to forming cracks upon water quenching.
